Scrip
One of Beth David's new and potentially significant fund raising projects is our Scrip program. Simply stated, scrip is a certificate that is used like cash at grocery stores. Beth David sells scrip certificates in denominations of $10.00, $20.00 and $50.00. Scrip sold by Beth David is redeemable, just like cash, at WALDBAUM'S FOODMART, BIG Y, STOP AND SHOP, and WILD OATS. The merchant will even return up to $5.00 change in cash. Your groceries cost you nothing extra, and the synagogue earns 5% of the sale (10% at Wild Oats). So for example, $100 worth of SCRIP will buy $100 worth of groceries; with Beth David earning $5.00 (or $10) on that original $100.
It is very easy to participate in Beth David's Scrip program. Simply call the synagogue office at 236-1241 or e-mail beth.david.syn@snet.net. You can pay with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. You may pick up your certificates at Beth David, or if you wish, they will be delivered to you. The choice is yours!
